EHQ's most popular tool features a new question type, adding to the dozen or so that are already in place for Surveys & Forms.
What is the new question type?
Email. Simple as that. The new question type allows you to ask for people's email addresses. You could have done that with a single line question already, but there are plenty of benefits using the new question type.
- The format needs to be something@example.com. If a person enters an invalid email address it will show an error message. This does not fully prevent typos, but at least it should make people aware that this is a space for emails and nothing else.
- IF the survey taker is a registered participant AND logged in while taking the survey, the email question type is automatically filled with their email address.
- The email in this field is used to send acknowledgement messages to the survey taker. This comes in handy when you have a survey that allows 'Anyone' to take the survey. With the new question type you can send acknowledgement messages even to non-registered participants when you opt in for the notifications to be sent. That is a HUGE plus.
